CAS registry number (CAS RN, CAS #)
is a unique identification number of chemical compounds, polymers, biological sequences of nucleotides or amino acids, mixtures and alloys, which are included in the CAS Registry.
Chemical Abstracts Service
is a division of the American Chemical Society, which assigns CAS RNs to substances described in open scientific literature, since 1957.
Typically, CAS is assigned to new substances, but it is possible to add components and mixtures, which are similar to the already registered ones but are different in physical and chemical properties, and hazard categories.

Publish an article about a new substance in scientific literature.
This is a risky method, and it does not guarantee that your substance will be included in the CAS Registry, because there are additional factors involved: the relevance and the language of the article, its citations, the detail with which the substance is described, etc.
